If you’re looking to book car hire in Magaluf, you can arrange this either before you go on holiday, or once you’re there. For many people the easier option is to book before they go and arrange to have the hire car ready and waiting for them at the Son San Juan international airport 20 minutes drive away. This way, you can collect your car when you arrive, drive to Magaluf, enjoy your holiday, and then drive back to the airport where it’s picked up before you fly home.

However, if you don’t want to go down this route, or you only want to hire the car for one or two days of your holiday, then there are a number of places in Magaluf where you can arrange a hire car directly, or alternatively you could use a company such as Torrenova car hire who have all the prices of all the top car hire companies in Majorca grouped together and have some of the lowest prices around. One or two hotels in Magaluf have car hire desks available within them too including the Hotel Trinidad where Holiday Autos have their offices, but at virtually any of the hotels they will be able to give you details of car hire companies who will often bring the car to your hotel.

It’s worth noting a few things however before you start driving your hire car that are different from when you drive in the UK.

    * Speed limits are generally 50kph in town, 90-100 on the open road and 120kph on the motorway. *note this is kilometres not miles per hour!
    * Children are not allowed to travel in the front seat unless a child restraint system is in place, and in the back of the car, children under 135cm tall must also use specially adapted restraints.
    * You must always carry your driver’s license and if it’s not a photo license then you must also carry photo ID with you too.
    * Do NOT drink and drive – this is important. Over 0.05% and you are breaking the law and could face a large fine or even imprisonment.
    * You must carry two warning triangles to position each end of the car if you have an accident, and at least two visibility vests as well. *most car hire companies will provide these as standard, but it’s worth checking they’re there as they’re not compulsory in the UK, but are in Majorca.

Once you’ve hired a car, then virtually everything within the island of Majorca becomes within your reach and there are some excellent sights to be seen.
