Magaluf is situated on the southwest coast of Majorca, at one end of the Palma bay. About 15 kilometres from the islands capital Palma, and the Son Sant Joan international airport, it is an easy destination to reach, and one where there is plenty of fun to be had.
During the day at Magaluf the area is alive with many water sports activities going on from jet skiing and wind surfing, to scuba diving and more. There are two water parks nearby too which attract many people, as well as other sports related activities such as horse back riding, and go kart racing.

The beach front area has many small shops and cafes catering to visitors, and the sweeping white sands on the beaches here are wonderful places to relax and sunbathe while you watch others being active in the blue waters beyond.

In the evenings here, the atmosphere stays quite lively, with a variety of neon lit discos and trendy clubs for you to enjoy. All places where you can dance and drink till well into the night if you want to. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants if you want something a little less full on, and you’ll find a good choice of food from traditional Spanish taps to Mexican, Indian, English, and even simple fast food burgers and chips.

Most of the hotels locally offer evening entertainment that’s open to residents and non residents, and is of a more family oriented nature, with dancing, shows, and cabaret. Majorca’s only casino is not far from Magaluf in Cala Vinas, and it’s easy to get a taxi here if you fancy a night of blackjack and roulette. They also serve some very good food here, and have evening shows too, though these aren’t always family suitable.

Accommodation in Magaluf is quite varied, and you can opt for self catering in an apartment, all the way up to luxury five star hotels where you can go all inclusive if you want to. Most hotels locally cater for families and offer not just somewhere to sleep, but also pools, spas, evening entertainment, and other activities too.

Nearby Palma is only a short bus journey away, and for those who enjoy learning about the local history of an area, Palma is a great place to go as there are many local sites of interest here, and a sightseeing tour bus which runs every half an hour or so on a daily basis allowing you to hop on and off at the different stops as you want to.
